Doug’s journey into heart rate monitoring began in 2001 during his training for endurance rides on both upright and recumbent bicycles. His passion for fitness sparked a mission: to help everyone, especially school-aged children, understand the vital role heart rate plays in measuring physical fitness. Collaborating with physical education teachers across the nation, Doug has fine-tuned the HTP system to include metrics for Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity (MVPA), enabling users to track their fitness with objective measures. Join us in transforming the way we approach health and fitness!
Rich has dedicated his entire teaching career to the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District, where he taught Physical Education and coached high school baseball and basketball—often alongside his sons. His daughter, inspired by her love for animals, is now a veterinarian in Northern New England. Rich credits his wife, Ann, his steadfast partner of 50 years, for their family's happiness and success.
With a Master’s in Education Technology earned in 1982, Rich's passion for integrating technology into physical education flourished. He secured numerous grants to enhance his PE program and, since retiring from teaching, has focused on implementing heart rate technology in schools nationwide. Rich thrives on working with teachers and students, bringing the excitement of the HTP platform to life in the gym.

With over ten years of experience in office administration, she’s a pro at keeping things organized. An avid runner since the age of five, Charita credits her dad for igniting her passion for the sport. When she’s not working, she loves spending quality time with her family and two daughters.
Brad joined Heart Tech Plus in July 2020 after a decade of teaching physical education at the middle school level. Honored as the 2018 SHAPE Colorado Middle School PE Teacher of the Year and the 2020 Shape America Central District Teacher of the Year, he has made a significant impact in the field.
In 2017-2018, he played a key role in securing a $100,000 DON’T QUIT! Fitness Center for his school and a $30,000 Riding for Focus grant, bringing mountain bikes and helmets to students. A mentor teacher and Denver Broncos NFL Play 60 FitnessGram Champion, Brad integrates the Heart Tech Plus system into his lessons daily. He believes heart rate technology is a game changer for physical education, empowering students to become independent learners and understand the importance of exercising in multiple heart rate zones.
